The Cabuyao Church or Saint Polycarp Parish Church is one of the oldest Laguna Churches. The first mass on Cabuyao was on the year 1673. The first and original church of the town actually was established at Marinig however, this was built on loose sand.
Due to frequent flooding on the area, the friars decided to build it on a higher ground. The construction of new church started on 1763.
Did you know that it's only until 1899 that the church had a Filipino priest? His name is Fr. Eulalio Mea. Below is the image inside the church during day time. It's kind of old indeed.
In the years 1972 to 1974, the church was renovated and completed by he Cabuyao Church Reconstruction Committee. The parishioners of Cabuyao are very grateful and even dedicated a plaque for the leaders of the renovation team. The plaque is placed inside the church.
On 2006, the Saint Polycarp Parish Church built a Community of Christ's Faithful for the people relocated at Southville, Cabuyao. People from Southville are those railroad settlers from Manila and Makati who were relocated to Cabuyao for them to have a new life and beginning in the province.
Very nice lightning inside the church. Time here is around 6:30PM after I attended the Wednesday mass. The light amazingly made the altar looked very beautiful.
