- Calamba Church -

Calamba Church or The Saint John the Baptist Parish Church was built in 1859 (it's been a long time) but was destroyed during World War II. Fr. Dimaculangan headed the reconstruction of the church. As you can see on the photo, the evidence of its old age is visible. I have seen a lot improvement on this church since we grew up going on this church.

Not only that the church is an old church but it was also a historical site. This is where our national hero Jose Rizal was baptized. The Rizal Shrine was just beside the church.

This is where the Jose Rizal was baptized. The administrators of Calamba Church retained the original set-up of the baptismal area. All the things that you can see here are all original items back when Rizal was baptized.

Can you see me and my friend Chiqui on this picture? Hehe :). This is what it looks like inside the Saint John the Baptist Church. Pretty amazing indeed! The church was renovated whenever needed that's is why it look gorgeous now. Thank you to the people of Calamba Laguna who continuously provide resources on the church's projects.

Calamba Church also has a wide land area. It even has a replica of the Garden of Gethsemane where you can pray and can have your Stations of the Cross. Here you can see the Well of Repentance or "Balon ng Pagbabalik Loob".

A lot of visitors from other towns or provinces spend their Holy Week here to pray the Stations of the Cross. Thank you to the donors who made the human size Station of the Cross possible.

During weekdays, when I visit the church, I always go to the Adoration Chapel. It also has a wishing area where you can throw coins and make your wish solemnly.
